Amazon M For Mac

Click to expand. Its definitely possible however I don't know how. Here is how I tested and even verified it.

Product Features. From a Solid block of aluminum, Mac mini has a seamless, unique look.

Jack Ryan episode 1, up to about the 4:58 minute:second point in the show I get output out of all speakers, receiver reporting 5 channels + SW. At 4:58 the music stops and dialogue starts and surround speakers go virtually silent. If I disconnect the right light and center speakers I get complete silence except for some basic surround noises like paper shuffling and finally at 7:25 a door shuts which is very distinct. So clearly, like the receiver indicates its multichannel surround. Its odd watching a show like this tbh lol. Meanwhile the Amazon app does not have a 5.1 tag at all.

And regardless of settings I can't force it like I can in the Samsung smart tv app. Apple TV settings are using an auto audio mode and best quality available. I tried turning off AirPlay (since I get 2 channels over AirPlay to another receiver connected via AirPort Express), setting Dolby Digital 5.1 in audio settings, turn on/off dynamic sound vs reduce loud sounds, restarting the ATV after every step, etc. What I did notice is the Amazon Prime app is unpredictable as all hell.

Sometimes it won't won't give me the HDR tag for HDR content, sometimes it will but not play in HDR and use 'HD 1080', sometimes it won't give me the HDR tag but it will play in HDR. Point is I wonder if its unpredictable like this for video if it can do the same thing with audio. I have noticed that all the latest series of Amazon Prime shows are missing multi-channel (5.1) sound on apple TV 4K (and I suspect apple tv 4th gen). I have an HD TV and an AV amp which is not Dolby Atmos compatible.

The follow series are missing 5.1 sound on my set-up: Jack Ryan - series 1 Bosch - series 4 Goliath - series 2 All the series were first made available this year (2018) The older Amazon series of these shows (and both series of Man in the High Castle which dates back to Dec 2016) do have multi-channel 5.1 sound. I get 5.1 sound for all of the recent Amazon prime shows if I use my old Amazon fire tv streaming box so it's not a problem with my AV amp.

My guess is that all the latest series of these shows have dolby atmos sound but that Amazon have not chosen to make this available to apple tv app for now so that it is an exclusive feature of the new amazon fire TV. I'd be interested if others can confirm my findings about these Amazon prime shows.

Other non-Amazon series and films seem to play fine with multichannel sound. I have noticed that all the latest series of Amazon Prime shows are missing multi-channel (5.1) sound on apple TV 4K (and I suspect apple tv 4th gen).

Attention: The Mac App Store isn’t the only game in town. Amazon on Thursday quietly unveiled its, a selection of around 250 Mac applications and games that you can purchase and install without ever having to open a box. While Amazon has been selling downloadable Mac software for some time, grouping those together into a single section is new. The Internet retailer is also offering a $5-off coupon to celebrate the “launch” of its Mac download store. 'The Mac Download Store is a one-stop shop where customers can get the most popular games and software products for Mac from Call of Duty to Microsoft Office,' an Amazon PR rep told Macworld. 'Amazon will continue to build out the broadest selection of titles across these categories in the next several months.

Amazon's Mac Download store features an install-less download process where the customer gets just the product without any unwanted extras, making for faster and easier purchases. Plus, downloads are conveniently backed up in your Games and Software Library where you can download an unlimited number of times for personal use.' The Amazon representative said that as a launch promotion, the company is offering customers free downloads of the game as well as offering a $5 discount on their first download for the first week for all games and software with the code SAVE5MAC. While available titles include high-profile software like Microsoft Office and Intuit’s QuickBooks, as well as popular games like Call of Duty 4 and Dragon Age 2, there’s a dearth of products from the indie software market. There also doesn’t seem to be any substantial discount on the electronic versions: a download version of Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 Home and Student Edition Family Pack cost $115, versus a shipped version at $117 (shipping not included). And while Dragon Age 2 will, a costs $42—and it’s eligible for free shipping. Some titles seem about the same price on Amazon’s store and the Mac App Store: The Borderlands Game of the Year edition, for example, runs $49.99 on the Mac App Store and $49.95 on Amazon.

Download

Once you’ve purchased an application or game, you can re-download it as many times as you want. However, Amazon warns, different manufacturers may have different restrictions on how many machines you can install software on with a single license key. For games, Amazon says it will allow you to request an additional product key for no extra charge if you run out of installs on the key you bought, though it also says that such installs are “for personal use only” and not for friends and family. To download an app, Amazon relies on its own Game/Software Downloader software, which it says will launch automatically for Mac users when they download their first application. As for updates, expect a process that’s not quite as smooth as the Mac App Store. While some programs may prompt you for updates and patches on their own, Amazon says that for others you may need to visit the manufacturer’s site.

And while trial versions are available for PC downloads, that feature hasn’t yet made its way to the Mac. Software purchased from Amazon’s Mac Software Downloads requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later.
